Hello! I’m Luke
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I specialize in restoring broken and dysfunctional relationships. Painful events may lead to distrust, hopelessness, anxiety, anger, and withdrawal. In my practice I work with my clients to identify the circumstances and patterns causing distress and partner with them to develop and practice new patterns. I have extensive experience working with couples and individuals who are fighting to keep their relationship alive or are hoping to rebuild trust and intimacy.
I also specialize in working with individuals to address a broad range of mental health diagnoses such as depression and anxiety, as well as help individuals navigate life transitions, such as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and professional burnout.
My Approach & Values
My work is very goal oriented. We will set clear goals and I will ensure we will stay on track to meet them. Generally, I will help you gain insight into your thoughts and behaviors, connecting them to your past. I will also give you very practical tools to start changing those patterns going forward.
I am open minded and work well with clients from all faith, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Personally, I have a Christian worldview. While this does not enter the therapy room unless my clients request it, some of my clients want to know I share and understand their faith values.
I was the College and Twenties Pastor at Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City, CA for 6 years and having worked in both ministry and therapy contexts, I am frequently a referral for churches to see their pastoral staff and congregants. I offer workshops for churches and do marriage, spiritual and emotional health assessments for couples that want to plant churches via the NAMB SEND Network.
